Publicist, Essential Broadcast Media, LLC

Nashville-native Scott Stem has had a life-long obsession with music, entertainment and pop culture. During his time as a student at Belmont University, he interned (and was later hired upon graduation) at Pam Lewis & Associates, a music PR firm. There he began doing publicity for a new artist named Garth Brooks, who was in the process of recording his debut album. For more than 10 years, Scott served as publicist for Garth through Doyle/Lewis Management, Bob Doyle and Associates and GB Management, overseeing publicity for Brooks’ albums, tours, television specials (including “Garth: Live in Central Park” on HBO), charity involvement and more.

When Brooks closed GB Management, Scott moved on to Capitol Records Nashville as Vice President of Publicity, overseeing media relations for the entire label roster including Brooks, Trace Adkins, Susan Ashton, Keith Urban, and Steve Wariner. Later he moved to FORCE Ink, handling publicity for Alan Jackson, Jennifer Knapp, Brad Paisley, Travis Tritt, Trisha Yearwood and others, before creating his own PR firm and working with artists including Ty England, Peter Frampton and Trent Summar.

For 10 years, Scott worked for the Country Music Association (CMA), first as the Senior Manager, and later the Director of Media Relations. There, he oversaw PR for the trade association and all of its events, television specials, and initiatives including the CMA Awards, CMA Music Festival, the annual announcement of the Country Music Hall of Fame inductees and more. He then joined Kaleidoscope Media as the Senior Director of Entertainment Public Relations, handling publicity projects for AC Entertainment, Bigger Picture Group, Bonnaroo, Cumberland Heights, The Listening Room Cafe, Sony/ATV Music Publishing’s “Nashville Guitars and Bars” initiative, The Southern Steak & Oyster and more. In 2013, he proudly joined the EB Media team.
