Nashville, Tenn. (Wednesday, February 15, 2012) - Capitol Records Nashville recording artist Darius Rucker is well-known for his charitable nature and for his love of his hometown and state – Charleston, SC. His sophomore country album was even named for the city, so it was no surprise to the community when Rucker reprised his role as frontman for a different type of performance as a benefit concert for the Medical University of South Carolina’s Children’s Hospital. “Darius Rucker Big Band Show” was a very special evening that consisted of Rucker singing 90 minutes of classic Frank Sinatra tunes backed by an orchestra led by Peter Graves held at North Charleston Performing Arts center to a sold-out crowd Monday night, February 13. In total, the event raised $260,000 for MUSC Children’s Hospital.
